I’ve gotta say that the amount of other Black women wearing their natural hair in my neighborhood really encourages me :D
Today I saw at least 30 women of all ages with all different hairstyles all over town— at work, on the bus to work, at the gym and on the street.
I’m so glad that women that are embracing what they have are becoming both more in number and more visible!

Today, my parents attended the funeral of some guy they knew back in college. This fellow died in his sleep at 46 years old. He was about 800 pounds at the time of his death.
He was apparently a really good person, because he’s one of the few people my father bothered to keep in touch with from their past. I think it is a tragedy.

I went to the gym today after resting for a couple of weeks (injury playing footie). I stepped on the scale in the bathroom and HOLY GOD 5 POUNDS DISAPPEARED OUT OF NOWHERE.
I’ve lost 20 pounds in about 5 weeks.
Incredible!
